Reichshofstadion

SC Austria Lustenau

The Reichshofstadion in Lustenau is the largest football stadium in Vorarlberg.

General

It serves as home for the playing in the First League club SC Austria Lustenau. The stadium is equipped with a soil heating.

Historical

It was built in 1952-1953. Large restoration was done in 1996/97 and in 2000. Originally it served as a multi-purpose arena with a career, but these had to give some additional conditions referred to grandstands so that the stadium today de facto serves as a pure football stadium. It can accommodate 8,800 spectators, of which 2,126 covered seats, covered 2,390 and 4,284 standing places not covered standing places (a total of 6,674 standing).

From the winter break 2006/2007 also played the FC Lustenau its home games in Reichshofstadion because the Bundesliga keeps the stadium on the wood road unfit. According to the " voluntary" relegation of FC Lustenau the Reichshofstadion the Austria Lustenau used since the 2013/14 season again exclusively as a home.

In 2007, the Reichshofstadion served as the venue for large group presentations as part of the World Gym.

Hugo Kleinbrod Chapel

On 3 August 2007, the Hugo - Kleinbrod Chapel was opened in Reichshofstadion. The stadium has now the first in Austria its own chapel. Fans of SC Austria Lustenau can now marry in the stadium or have their children baptized.

This chapel is dedicated to the former Lustenauer parish helpers Hugo Kleinbrod. Kleinbrod had when he had returned from captivity after the 2nd World War to poor children and orphans taken care of - and founded in 1951 the Vorarlberg village children.

The chapel was designed by architect Hugo Dworzak.
