Papyrus 50

(Referred to Gregory- Aland Sigel 50) Papyrus 50 is an early copy of the Greek New Testament. It is a papyrus manuscript of the Book of Acts contains the verses from 8.26 to 32; 10.26 to 31. Using palaeography, it was the 4/5 Assigned century.

Description

The Greek text of this codex is mixed and has some orthographic features and fixes. Kurt Aland placed it in Category III. In general, the text with the Codex Sinaiticus and Codex Vaticanus agrees.

The Nomina sacra are contracted.

The manuscript is currently housed in the Beinecke Rare Book and Manuscript Library at Yale University under the signature P. 1543 Yale in New Haven.
