Papyrus 61
(Referred to Gregory- Aland Sigel 61) Papyrus 61 is an early copy of the Greek New Testament. It is a papyrus manuscript containing a portion of Paul's letters. Using palaeography, it has been dated to the 7th century.
In the fragments of the following verses have been preserved:
- Romans 16.23-27
- 1 Corinthians 1,1-2.4-6; 5,1-3.5-6.9-13
- Philippians 3,5-9.12-16
- 1 Thessalonians 1:2-3
- Titus 3,1-5.8-11.14-15
- Philemon 4-7
The Greek text of this codex is a representative of the Alexandrian text-type. Kurt Aland placed it in Category II.
The manuscript is currently housed in the The Morgan Library & Museum, under the signature P. Colt 5 in New York City.
