Papyrus 65

Papyrus 65 ( Gregory- Aland 65 denotes Sigel ) is an early copy of the Greek New Testament. It is a papyrus manuscript contains parts of the first letter of Paul to the Thessalonians. Using palaeography, it has been dated to the 3rd century.

The manuscript contains the verses of 1.3 to 2.1 and from 2.6 to 13.

The text was first published in 1957 by Vittorio Bartoletti. The Greek text of this codex is a representative of the Alexandrian text-type. Aland placed it in Category I, but the handwriting is too short for certainty.

According Comfort originate 49 and 65 of the same manuscript.

The manuscript is currently in the Istituto Papirologico ' G. Vitelli ' preserved as part of the National Archaeological Museum of Florence under the signature PSI 1373.
