Papyrus 84

(Referred to Gregory- Aland Sigel 84) Papyrus 84 is an early copy of the Greek New Testament. It is a papyrus manuscript contains parts of the four Gospels. Have been preserved are the verses Markus 2,2-5.8-9; 6,30-31.33-34.36-37.39-41 and John 5.5 17,3.7-8. Using palaeography, it has been dated to the 6th century.

The Greek text is probably mixed. He tends to be strongly to the Byzantine text-type. Aland placed it in Category III because of his age.

The manuscript is in the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven Library ( PAM Khirbet Mird 4, 11, 26, 27) stored in Leuven. The manuscript was published in 2003 by S. Verhelst in Museon 116 pp. 15-35.
