The Paraná ( Guaraní: Parana ) is a river in South America. It rises in Brazil by the confluence of the Paranaíba and the Rio Grande and, together with the Uruguay River to the Rio de la Plata.

The Paraná is 3998 km long and almost completely deprived of its natural form, as it is accumulated almost continuously. The catchment area of the Paraná includes, without the Rio de la Plata 2,582,672 km ².

River

It rises in Brazil by the confluence of the Paranaíba and the Rio Grande, which takes place in the huge Ilha - Solteira Dam on the border of the states of Minas Gerais, São Paulo and Mato Grosso do Sul.
