Party for Democracy

The Partido por la Democracia (PPD) is a social democratic Chilean party. It was founded on 15 December 1987, because the Socialist Party (PS ) remained prohibited by the Pinochet regime. Ricardo Lagos, President of Chile until 2006 and a member of the PS, was also a founding member of the PPD and has remained a party book of PPD.
