Parviz Jalayer

Parviz Jalayer (* October 6, 1939 in Tehran, persian پرویز جلاير ) is an Iranian weightlifter and participants at the Summer Olympics in Tokyo in 1964 and 1968 in Mexico City.

Jalayer was in the squad of the Iranian weightlifting national team at the Summer Olympics in Tokyo in 1964, where he became Olympic seventh.

After winning the gold medal in the middleweight (75 kg) at the Asian Games in 1966 in Bangkok, he participated in the 1966 World Championships, which were held in Berlin, and won in the weight class "lightweight ( 67.5 kg ) " the bronze medal.

At the 1968 Olympic Games in Mexico City, he joined again at lightweight and has a total of 422.5 kg behind Waldemar Baszanowski from Poland Olympic silver medalist and thus won the silver medal.

In 1967 Parviz Jalayer presented in Tehran a new world record 169 kg in the put ( lightweight ).
