The metro station is located below the Avenida Rivadavia between the streets Calle Presidente José Evaristo Uriburu / Calle Calle Junín Pasco and / Calle Rincon. Is named the station after the battle at the Hill of Pasco ( Batalla de Cerro de Pasco ) in 1820 during the Peruvian War of Independence. The station has only one platform for trains heading east, ie Plaza de Mayo.

History

Metro Station Pasco was taken together with the section between the Plaza de Mayo and Plaza Miserere on 1 December 1913 in operation. The station had when it opened the usual side platforms for trains in both directions, which were added a few meters from each other due to the narrowing of the Avenida Rivadavia. The walls were and still are white tiled columns and Zieleisten are painted green.

On 6 August 1953, the Company completed the operator platform for trains heading west, so that the trains now pass to the surviving platform edge. About the motives of the closure is speculated to date. As one of the main reasons is considered the short distance to the next station Alberti, whose platforms were also offset so that the braking already had to be initiated shortly after the directions of a subway train. A bomb attack in front of the Casa de Pueblo, the previous session of the Socialist Party, fueled speculation over to costly repairs as a reason for the closure. It is believed that the platform is now used as a warehouse. The additions were removed and closed with lattices and are to this day still recognizable. Because of the unexplained circumstances surrounding the closure of many urban myths emerged in this regard.

In 1997, the Metro Station as a National Historic Monument ( monument histórico nacional ) was classified.
