Congreso (Buenos Aires Metro)

Metro Station Congreso is a station on line A of the Subterráneos de Buenos Aires and is part of the section Plaza de Mayo Plaza Miserere, which was opened as the first of the network on 1 December 1913. The metro station is located below the Avenida Rivadavia between the streets Avenida Callao / Avenida Entre Ríos and Riobamba Calle / Calle Combate de los Pozos. South of the station is the namesake Argentine Congress Palace ( Palacio del Congreso de la Nación Argentina).

History

Metro Station Congreso was taken in conjunction with the section between the Plaza de Mayo and Plaza Miserere on 1 December 1913 in operation. This station also received the usual side platforms, the station furniture, columns and moldings were given a brown finish. The walls are tiled in white and beige.

In 1997, the Metro Station as a National Historic Monument ( monument histórico nacional ) was classified.

In recent years, various remedial measures at the station took place. Among other things, the station received a lift - one of the few metro stations in Buenos Aires.
