Pasi Saarela

Pasi Saarela ( born August 24, 1973 in Laitila ) is a retired Finnish professional ice hockey player.

Career

Pasi Saarela began his career as a hockey player with Lukko Rauma, which until 1995 he was active from 1990 in the SM- liiga. With Rauma he finished second in the 1993/94 season the third place. He then moved to the league rivals Jokerit, he represented the following four seasons long on the ice and in 1996 won the European Cup. He was also third in the 1998 SM- liiga with the team. For the 1999/2000 season, the attacker first went to other European countries, where it ran aground Västra Frölunda HC in the Elitserien. After only one year Saarela returned to his Finnish homeland, where he played from 2000 to 2006 for his former club Lukko Rauma in the SM- liiga.

Towards the end of the 2005/06 season was the Finn a second time abroad in Europe and ended the season in the Swiss National League A for SC Bern, as well as the HC Sierre- Anniviers from the National League B. Then was the right winger abroad and played in the 2006 /07 Leksand IF from the HockeyAllsvenskan, the second highest Swedish league. After her year abroad Ässät Pori committed from the SM- liiga the striker, which he left during the season 2007/ 08 to play one more time for Lukko Rauma. There, he finished his career in 2009.

Internationally

For Saarela Finland took part in the U20 World Youth Championship 1993, where he finished fifth with his team.
