Paso Doble (Band)

Paso Doble is a band of the German New Wave, the ( born 9 May 1957) in 1983 by composer, music producer and keyboardist Frank Oberpichler, born Hieber and singer Rale Oberpichler ( born December 14, 1952) was established.

Band History

Rale Oberpichler worked before the band's formation as a background singer, among others, for Udo Lindenberg and Marius Müller- Westernhagen, while Frank Hieber was already successful as a producer and composer: The recorded together with Peter Schilling Title Major Tom ( fully detached ) in 1983 for eight weeks on number one on the charts and the best-selling single of the year.

Paso Dobles first single computer love could hold in 1985 for several weeks in the top 20 - at a time when the German New Wave was almost subsided. However, the subsequent album and the single of the same imagination could not repeat this success, as well as the single heart to heart in 1986. The following year the band was honored with the Golden Tuning Fork and won in the ZDF hit parade.

Hieber worked in the result again as a producer, among other things, Juliane Werding, Rolf Harris, Stefan Waggershausen, Rio Reiser and flowers. Their cover version of Heart to Heart in 1996 was # 4 on the German charts, stayed for seven weeks in the Top Ten and was awarded a gold record.

In 1995, the chorus of the song Computer Love was covered by the Dance Band The module and was again represented in the German top ten.
