Patrick Davis (ice hockey)
Patrick Davis ( born December 28, 1986 in Sterling, Michigan ) is an American professional ice hockey player who at Saimaan Pallo in the SM- liiga playing on the position of the left winger since July 2013.
Career
Patrick Davis began his career as a hockey player with the Detroit Belle Tire, for by 2003 he was active from 2002 in the U.S. Amateur Junior League Midwest Elite Hockey League. Then the winger went to the Sioux City Musketeers in the United States Hockey League. After he had spent there one season, the offensive player joined the Canadian junior team Kitchener Rangers, with whom he was active in the Ontario Hockey League. There the right shooter developed over the next three years into a prolific player and recorded in a total of 108 games of the regular season to 41 goals and 44 assists, which earned him a total of 85 points scorer. During the season 2005/ 06 he also completed a total of 45 games for the Windsor Spitfires league rivals and scored 59 points.
In the same season, Davis was also active for the Albany River Rats, the former farm team of the New Jersey Devils in the American Hockey League and completed three games in which he remained no points and was awarded two penalty minutes. NHL Entry Draft 2005 Davis was selected in the fourth round at 99th overall position of the New Jersey Devils. He spent the following two seasons exclusively with the Lowell Devils in the AHL and was able to increase his points total. During the 2008/ 09 season, the winger completed his NHL debut for the Devils, this was also his only use in that season. During the 2009/10 season, Davis was one of a fixed component to the team the Lowell Devils and also also denied eight games for the New Jersey Devils of the National Hockey League, where he was able to record his first scoring in the NHL.
In February 2011, Davis was given together with Michael Swift in a barter transaction to the San Jose Sharks in return received the Devils Jay Leach and Steven Zalewski. The 2011/12 season he spent with the Grizzly Adams Wolfsburg in the German Ice Hockey League, before he completed a trial with HK CSKA Moscow of the Kontinental Hockey League in August 2012 and eventually received a contract.
