Andreas Bernard

Andreas Bernard ( born June 9, 1990 in Bolzano ) is an Italian professional ice hockey goaltender who stands since 2009 in Lappeenranta Jokerit of the Finnish SM- liiga under contract. His brother Anton Bernard is also a professional hockey player.

Career

Andreas Bernard began his career as a hockey player with the HC Neumarkt, for the first team, he was active from 2006 to 2008 in Serie A2. Then the goalkeeper received the 2008/09 season a contract with HC Bolzano from his home town, for the first team, he stood in four games in Serie A1 between the posts. He also ran in five games for the SV Kaltern Hockey in Serie A2 in the further course of the season. In the summer of 2009, the Italians moved to the youth department of the Finnish first division club Jokerit Lappeenranta, for its professional team, he in the season 2010/11 in parallel with the game running aground with the A- juniors in four games in the SM- liiga. He was able to convince a Gegentorschnitt of 2.51 goals per game and a catch rate of 92.5 percent.

Since the season 2011/12 he played as a second goalkeeper behind the Finns experienced Jere Myllyniemi exclusively in the SM- liiga for Jokerit.

Internationally

For Italy, Bernard participated in the U18 Junior B World Championships in 2007 and 2008, the U20 Junior C World Cup 2008 and the U20 Junior World Championships 2009 and B, 2010. In the U20 -B World Championships in 2009 and 2010, he was elected the best goalkeeper in the Group B.
