Patrick Galbraith (ice hockey)

Patrick Galbraith ( born March 11, 1986 in Haderslev ) is a Danish professional ice hockey goaltender who is under contract at Karlskrona BK in the Swedish HockeyAllsvenskan since May 2013. His father George was also a professional hockey player.

Playing career

Patrick Galbraith began his career as a professional hockey player when IK Jutland, for whom he made ​​his debut in the AL -Bank Ligaen in the season 2003/ 04. Then the club was taken over by the Sports Club Sønderjysk elite sport and renamed the Hockey department in SønderjyskE Ishockey. With this, he became in 2006 the first time in his career Danish champion.

Before the season 2006/ 07 Galbraith signed a contract in the Eastern Junior Hockey League with the New Hampshire Jr. Monarchs, which he, however, after only one year left in the direction of Denmark, where he wrote again in SønderjyskE Ishockey. In the two following years, he once reached the third place in the Danish Championship ( 2008) and his second Danish Champion title ( 2009).

In May 2009, Galbraith was hired by the IF Björklöven from the Swedish HockeyAllsvenskan, for which he was in 43 games in goal and reached a Gegentorschnitt of 2.53. In June 2010 he transferred within the Allsvenskan for Leksand IF, for which he in the main round in 43 games had a Gegentorschnitt of 2:27 per game and a catch quota of 91.8 percent in the 2010/11 season. In August 2011 he received a sample contract with the Adler Mannheim, where he played two games in the European Trophy. Afterwards, however, he received a contract for the whole season and moved in September 2011 to HC Slovan Bratislava in the Slovak Extraliga. There he was able to convince with strong performances, after which he was obliged after only seven games in December 2011 of the Espoo Blues of the Finnish SM- liiga.

Internationally

For Denmark Galbraith participated exclusively at the U20 Junior B World Cup 2006 at the junior level. In the senior level, he stood in the squad of his country at the A World Championships in 2006, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011 and 2012. Especially in the 2010 World Cup, where he had a Gegentorschnitt of 2:01 per game and a catch quota of 93.5 percent in five games he was able to convince and was voted one of the top three players of Denmark at the World Cup.
