The IK Oskarshamn is a Swedish professional ice hockey club based in Oskarshamn, playing in the second highest Swedish professional league, the HockeyAllsvenskan since 2000. Play their home games from the club in the Arena Oskarshamn, which offers 3,200 spectators.

History

The IK Oskarshamn was created in 1970 from the merger of the departments of the Hockey IFK Oskarshamn Oskarshamn and AIK. The section of IFK Hockey was founded in 1947, that of the AIK until 1953.

Between 1996 and 2003, the club went under the name of Oskarshamn Eagles, but then returned back to the original name.

Home ground

The Arena Oskarshamn, formerly Oskarshamns Ishall was built in 1974 and has since been used by the IK Oskarshamn for its home games. The total capacity of the hall was originally 2516 spectators. Since a renovation 2004, the ice rink holds 3,200 spectators, with 1700 seats and 1500 standing places are available. The official record crowd of 3265 spectators was erected at a league match against Malmö Redhawks, 2010.
