The IF Troja Ljungby - is a Swedish professional ice hockey club based in Ljungby, playing in the second highest Swedish professional league, the HockeyAllsvenskan since 2008. Play their home games out of the club in Sunnerbohov that offers 3000 spectators.

History

The club was founded on 22 March 1948. Already in the same year, the game began operation in Division III before 1954 saw him rise to Division II. Until the late 1970s, the club remained in this division. 1976 and 1978 succeeded in rising to Division I, which at that time represented the second league. In the 1980s, the team established in this league, but often retired early in the playoffs. In the early 1990s, the team often reached the Kvalserien to the rise in the Elitserien, but failed there regularly. Only in 2005 the club was relegated to the now third-rate Division I, before 2008, the resurgence in the HockeyAllsvenskan succeeded.

In addition to the first men's team, the association operates several amateur teams and junior teams of all ages.

Home ground

The ice rink Sunnerbohov was built in 1981 and has since been used by the IF Troja Ljungby - for its home games. It comprises 1000 seats and standing places and 2000 - but the attendance record is 4050 spectators. This record was set in a league match against Brynäs IF on 21 January 1996.
