Paul Birch (footballer)

Paul Birch ( born November 20, 1962 in West Bromwich, † February 2nd 2009 in Sutton Coldfield ) was an English footballer.

Life

Birch began his career in the youth department of Aston Villa. After his debut in the first team in the European Super Cup against FC Barcelona in 1982, he came in the following season to regular operations. He played up to the season 1990/1991 at Aston Villa, before he was sold to Wolverhampton Wanderers, where he played the next five years. He then played one season at Doncaster Rovers and Exeter City. At the end of his career he ran for the amateur club Halesowen Town. Between 2001 and 2003 he was a member of the coaching staff of the Forest Green Rovers, after which he was a youth coach at Birmingham City.

Birch died in 2009 at the age of 46 from bone cancer.
