Paul Peter Rhode

Paul Peter Rhode ( born September 18, 1871 in Neustadt in West Prussia, † March 3, 1945 in Green Bay, Wisconsin) was the sixth Catholic Bishop of Green Bay.

In 1881, Rhode emigrated with his mother to Chicago in the United States. He received his education at St. Mary 's College in Kentucky, at St. Ignatius College in Chicago and at St. Francis Seminary in Milwaukee. On June 17, 1894, Rohde was consecrated by Archbishop Patrick Augustine Feehan priest and then worked in various parishes in the Archdiocese of Chicago.

Pope Pius X appointed Rohde on May 27, 1908 Auxiliary Bishop of Chicago and Titular Bishop of Barca; He received episcopal ordination on July 29, 1908 by Archbishop James Edward Quigley. Co-consecrators were the Auxiliary Bishops Peter James Muldoon from Chicago and Joseph Maria Koudelka of Cleveland.

Seven years later, on July 15, 1915, Pope Benedict XV. him bishop of Green Bay. This office Rohde practiced until his death. During his tenure, he built ten new parishes, the diocesan Caritas organized new and created its own education department in his diocese.
