Paul Tan Chee Ing

Paul Tan Chee Ing, SJ ( born April 5, 1940 in Muar ) is a Malaysian priest and bishop of Melaka - Johor.

Life

Paul Tan Chee Ing joined the Congregation of the Jesuits, received on 21 June 1971, the priesthood and put the solemn profession on 15 August 1989. Pope John Paul II appointed him on 13 February 2003 as Bishop of Melaka - Johor.

He received his episcopal consecration of the Apostolic Nuncio to Thailand, Singapore and Cambodia and Apostolic Delegate in Brunei Darussalam, Myanmar, Malaysia and Laos, Adriano Bernardini, on 15 May of the same year; Co-consecrators were James Chan Soon Cheong, retired bishop of Melaka - Johor, and Anthony Soter Fernandez, Archbishop of Kuala Lumpur.
