Paul Vincent Donovan

Paul Vincent Donovan ( born September 1, 1924 in Bernard, Iowa, † 27 April 2011) was an American clergyman and Catholic Bishop of Kalamazoo.

Life

Paul Vincent Donovan received on 20 May 1950, ordained priest for the Diocese of Lansing. He was two decades working in pastoral care, among other things, in the parishes of Our Lady of Fatima at Jackson and St. Agnes in Flint.

Pope Paul VI. appointed him on 15 June 1971 for the first Bishop of Kalamazoo. The Archbishop of Detroit, John Francis Cardinal Dearden, donated to him on 21 July of the same year the episcopal ordination; Co-consecrators were Mieceslaus Alexander Zaleski, Bishop of Lansing, and Michael Joseph Green, Bishop of Reno.

November 22, 1994 Pope John Paul II accepted his resignation.
