Paweł Wojciechowski (economist)

Paweł Wojciechowski ( born January 3, 1960) was Finance Minister of Poland in 2006.

Life

Wojciechowski studied international trade at the Warsaw School of Economics in Warsaw, which he completed in 1983. He then studied with a scholarship at John Carroll University, where he graduated in 1986 with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics. Then he was from June 1987 to February 1988 as a consultant to Davies Can in Solon (Ohio ). In 1988, he completed his probationary parallel studies at Case Western Reserve University with a bachelor's degree. Subsequently, he was an analyst at the Center for Regional Economic Issues in Cleveland, where he studied macro-economic contexts. In 1994 he was also awarded by the Polish Academy of Sciences doctoral degrees. Between 1994 and 1996 he was a consultant to the Ministry of Privatization ( Ministerstwo Przekształceń Własnościowych ) in Poland.

In July 1999 he became Managing Director of PTE Allianz Polska, a subsidiary of Allianz AG. The company was criticized during his time as CEO due to lack of profitability. His tenure at the Alliance, he finished in January 2005. In March 2006, he was consultant of Kazimierz Marcinkiewicz and returned so back into politics. On 24 June 2006, he was the successor of Zyta Gilowska Finance. He remained until July 14, 2006 at the office.
