Peace Haven is a coastal town in East Sussex, England, about midway between Brighton and Eastbourne. It belongs to the district of Lewes, was established in 1914 by Charles Neville, who had the intention to create a coastal garden city. The quiet resort is located on the prime meridian near the coastline ( and future national parks) South Downs.

Because at this point temporarily an ANZAC camp had been found, the place was originally called New Anzac -on-Sea. After the Battle of Gallipoli, this name was found to be no longer suitable, and a newspaper competition took a new name for the settlement. The newspaper the Daily Express sued Neville because of competition and described him as a fraud, in which " free " land in the city promised as second prizes, but then only upon payment of a transfer fee would actually handed out. Although the newspaper won the case, took advantage of the free advertising and Peacehaven.
