Pedro Sarmiento (cardinal)

Pedro Sarmiento (* 1478 in Ribadeo, Spain, † October 31, 1541 in Lucca ) was a Cardinal of the Catholic Church.

Sarmiento was first Bishop of Tui, then Badajoz, later Palencia and then archbishop of Compostela. He was called by Pope Paul III. appointed at the request of the Roman emperor to the Cardinal of Santi XII Apostoli on 18 October 1538.
