The SMP ( Samvardhana Motherson Peguform ) Germany GmbH ( formerly: Peguform GmbH) is an automotive supplier headquartered in Bötzingen near Freiburg im Breisgau.

The word " Samvardhana " comes from the Indian language and means: Sam = always, Vard = growing, Dhan = value.

History

The company was founded in 1959 by Fritz Ries Badische Plastic -Werke GmbH in Bötzingen for the production of plastic products of films to household goods. In 1978 she was renamed to Peguform -Werke GmbH and has since focused on the automotive market. 1983 sold the parent company Pegulan AG Peguform to the British American Tobacco group BAT. In 1990, the takeover of the now Eurotec group mentioned by Klöckner -Werke. In October 2002, the company went into bankruptcy and was acquired by Cerberus Capital Management in 2005. Locations of the company are located in Ingolstadt, Gifhorn, Göttingen, Neustadt an der Donau, Meerane and Oldenburg. Other plants and joint ventures are located in Castellbisbal, Martorell and Polinyà in Barcelona and Palencia, Teruel and Zaragoza in Spain, Palmela in Portugal, Bratislava and Galánta in Slovakia, Puebla, Mexico, Atibaia, Curitiba, Taubaté and São Bernardo do Campo, Brazil. In China, there is a plant in Changchun, two more are under construction. Most of the works are located in close proximity to production sites by automakers. 23
