Peng Bo

Peng Bo (Chinese彭 勃, Pinyin Bo Peng; born February 18, 1981 in Nanchang ) is a Chinese diver.

Peng began to jump at the age of eight years. In 2001 he took part for the first time in Fukuoka at the World Swimming Championships. Together with his partner Wang Kenan, who trains with Peng in 2000, he immediately became the world champion in synchronized diving from the 3 -meter board. In the individual competition Peng was fourth. Two years later at the World Championships in Barcelona could Peng and Wang defend her title not because the Chinese Swimming Association Duo Wang and Wang Feng Tialing gave preference. Peng only competed in the individual competition and won behind the Russians Alexander Dobraskok the silver medal. In February 2004, Peng attended the discharged as part of the World Cup test competitions at the Olympic Aquatic Centre in Athens. There Peng was in the individual competition and third in synchronized diving, he won together with Wang Kenan. Since then, both were regarded as favorites for the Olympic Games.

In the Olympic synchronized diving final on 16 August 2004, Peng and Wang were after the fourth jump with over 12 points ahead in the lead. In the last jump but Wang Kenan became disoriented and splashed into the water. By evaluated with 0 points jump Peng and Wang slid down to rank 8. Eight days later, however, Peng was in the single competition from the 3 -meter board Olympic champion. Peng was after the semi-finals in second place behind the Canadians Alexandre Despatie. In the final on 24 August 2004 Peng benefited from an error by the Canadian on the third jump and in the end won with 31.41 points ahead.

Peng is currently studying philosophy at the university of China. He is a member of the Chinese army.
