Percy Ikerd

Percy Arthur Ikerd ( born May 4, 1890 in Eads, Tennessee, † March 10 1955 in San Bernardino, California ) was an American production manager and assistant director who was nominated for the Academy Awards in 1934 for an Oscar for best assistant director.

Biography

Ikerd began in the early 1930s as a production manager at a twelve-part documentary series titled How I Play Golf, the golf legend Bobby Jones presents beats and playful tricks.

As an assistant director, he participated 1933-1943 in the production of seven films. In 1934 he was among the nominees for the only a few years awarded Oscar for best assistant director.

Then he was again mainly active as a production manager and the production of such films as The Valley of the passions (1948 ), Twelve clock noon (1952 ) by Fred Zinnemann, The Moonlighter (1953) and Oklahoma ( 1955) involved.
