Peredelkino

Peredelkino (Russian Переделкино ) is a Datschensiedlung about 20 km southwest of the center of Moscow. It is located near the city limits of the Russian capital, in which it was incorporated in 2012, not far from the railway line to Kiev. Peredelkino regarded as artists' village.

History

Peredelkino was known since the 17th century as an aristocratic residence.

1934 beat Maxim Gorky before, the area to override the Writers' Union of the USSR. Then, within a few years about 50 wooden dachas were built for Soviet writers.

Among the residents in Peredelkino artists were Boris Pasternak, Korney Chukovsky, Arseny Tarkovsky (all three died here and were buried in the local cemetery ), Ilya Ehrenburg, Veniamin Kaverin, Orest Maltsev, Leonid Leonov, Ilya Ilf, Isaac Babel, Vsevolod Ivanov, Nikolai Sabolozki, Boris Pilnyak, Lilja Brik, Konstantin Simonov, Alexander Fadeev (who committed suicide in 1956 ) and Mikhail Bakhtin. More recently, Yevgeny Yevtushenko, Andrei Voznesensky, Bella Akhmadulina, Robert Rozhdestvensky and Zurab Tsereteli lived here.

Peredelkino which formally did not have the status of an independent village, belonged to several decades Leninsky Raion of Moscow Oblast. In the 1980s, immediately southeast was the housing estate Novo- Peredelkino ( " New Peredelkino "), which was annexed to Moscow in 1984 and since 1991 belongs to the western county. 2006 Peredelkino was part of the rural community Wnukowskoje selskoje posselenije of Rajons Leninsky. On July 1, 2012, the rural community and with her Peredelkino as well as other areas of the oblast removed and part of the newly created administrative district of Moscow Nowomoskowski. This Peredelkino is now part of Moscow.

Reception

In his satirical novel The Master and Margarita Mikhail Bulgakov called the settlement " Perelygino ". Also in the film The Russia House the Peredelkino plays a role.
