Pete Rock

Pete Rock ( born June 21, 1970 in Mount Vernon, New York, USA; born Peter Phillips) is an American DJ, producer and rapper.

Life

For the first time in the focus of the hip-hop community, he came in the late 1980s as a DJ Marley Marl in radio show In Control With Marley Marl on the New York station WBLS. In 1991 he started together with his partner CL Smooth as Pete Rock & CL Smooth record music. He has been one of the most sought after producers of the genre and had a significant influence on the East Coast hip-hop mid-1990.

It took more than four years before in 1998 with his solo debut Soul Survivor returns reported to the hip- hop audience. He has since 2001 an instrumental album PeteStrumentals as well as the 2004 follow-up to his debut, Soul Survivor II brought out.

Pete Rock album NY 's Finest contains, among other songs with Little Brother, Redman, Slum Village, Raekwon, The Lox and Papoose.
