Peter Doohan

Peter Doohan ( born 2 May 1961 in Newcastle, New South Wales ) is an Australian former tennis player.

Life

Doohan studied at the University of Arkansas and won in 1982 on the side of Pat Serret the NCAA doubles championship. He was elected twice to the best selection of All-American. In 1984 he won in Adelaide his first and only single title on the ATP World Tour. In the same year he also won his first doubles title at the ATP tournament in Tel Aviv. The following year, he was twice in a single finale, he had his last final appearance in 1987. All three tournaments were held in Australia. In total he won during his career five ATP doubles titles, nine more times he stood in a double finals. In the late 1980s he played more on the ATP Challenger Tour and could win the 1988 Challenger tournament in San Luis Potosí.
