Peter Shaw Ashton
Peter Shaw Ashton ( * June 27, 1934 in Boscombe, England ) is a British forest scientist and university professor. He conducts research on the tropical rainforests of Asia, in particular their wings fruit plants ( Dipterocarpaceae ).
Life
Ashton was among other things, director of the Arnold Arboretum of Harvard University, President of the International Association of Botanical Gardens ( International Association of Botanic Gardens ), an executive with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, The Nature Conservancy and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences and the Royal Society of Edinburgh.
