Peter Slaghuis

Peter Slaghuis ( born August 21, 1961 in Rijswijk, The Netherlands, † September 5, 1991 ) was a Dutch DJ and musician. Even in the earlier years he made himself as a remixer a name, and later came to his own productions. His most famous project was Hithouse. He died in the summer of 1991 in a car accident.

Musical projects

In 1984 he formed with Bianca Bonelli, the synth-pop duo Kids video. The published end of 1984 debut single " Woodpeckers from Space " reached in March 1985 and rocketed to number four in the German single charts. In 1988 the last release " The Witch Doctor". In 1986 he published under the pseudonym The Wiseguys his only Maxi-Single Samplification. Also under his real name, there were two single releases, but rather remained unknown.

His most famous project, however, was Hithouse, the literal translation of his Dutch surname. One of the biggest club hits of the project include Jack to the Sound of the Underground and Move Your Feet to The Rhythm of the Beat. Due to the success with Hithouse 1990 he founded his own record company called Hithouse Records whose style despite his Euro - house sound rather walked towards techno and tech-house. Among the most famous formations that were published under Hithouse Records, part of which was founded by him and Paul Elstak techno quartet Holy Noise. Their first 12 " Father Forgive Them publication, probably published in Autumn 1990, the last with Peter Slaghuis. All other publications of this formation in the years 1991-1993 appeared after the death of Peter Slaghuis.
