Petri Kokko (ice hockey)

Petri Kokko ( born 1 February 1975 in Oulu) is a Finnish professional ice hockey player who last stood until 2011 when HC Energie Karlovy Vary in the Czech Extraliga under contract.

Career

Petri Kokko began his career as a hockey player in his hometown in the junior department of Kärpät Oulu, for the first team he made his debut in the I divisioona, the Finnish second division was in season 1993/94. In 32 games, he scored three goals and gave it six assists, and he was obliged shortly before the end of the season Ilves Tampere of the SM- liiga. In Ilves the defender spent two years starting players. He then moved for a year to Kiruna IF in the Swedish second division. From 1997 to 1999 he stood for Jokerit of the SM - liiga in Lappeenranta on the ice before it in the season 1999/2000 a second attempt in the second Swedish league, this time at Tingsryd AIF tried. From 2000 to 2006, Kokko was another regular at Lappeenranta Jokerit in the SM- liiga. Only the 2003/04 season he finished at the Rapperswil -Jona Lakers of the Swiss National League A. Rapperswil he reached in the relegation relegation.

From 2006 to 2008, the former Finnish youth international for the Timrå IK played in the Swedish Elitserien. For the season 2008/ 09 he was awarded a contract with the Espoo Blues of the SM- liiga. With the team he took at the European level also participate in the Champions Hockey League. After he started the following season in Espoo, he moved in November 2009 to Brynäs IF of the Elitserien. There, however, he completed until end of season just eight games, and he was active for HC Energie Karlovy Vary in the Czech Extraliga during the season 2010/11. There he had from the beginning a regular place and scored six points scorer, with four goals in 46 games. Following the departure of the HC energy in the pre- playoff, his contract was not renewed.

Internationally

For Finland Kokko took part in the junior level at the U18 European Junior Championships in 1993 and the Under-20 Junior World Cup in 1995.
