Petrov (Blansko District)

Petrov ( Petrov German ) is a town in the Czech Republic. It is located four kilometers north-west of Kunstat and belongs to Okres Blansko.

Geography

Petrov is located in the mountains of the upper Svratka, a part of the Bohemian- Moravian Highlands, in the valley of the brook Petrůvka. The village is situated in the north of the nature reserve Halasovo Kunštátsko. To the north rise the Špilberk ( Spielberg, 653 m) and Brablecův Kopec (546 m), in the southeast of the Krib ( 582 m) and the Milenka ( 579 m ) south of the Mramorka ( 555 m) and the Kulíšek ( 692 m), in the southwest of Horničí (701 m) and northwest of the Kocholík ( 651 m).

Neighboring towns are Sulíkov and Vřesice in the north, Vranová in the northeast, Ořechov and Jasinov in the east, Nýrovec, Nýrov and Rudka the southeast, Kunstat, Sychotín and Makov in the south, Rozseč nad Kunštátem the southwest, Louka and Crhov in the west and Olešnice and Rozsíčka in northwest.

History

The first written mention of belonging to the reign Kunstadt village was in 1374 as Heralt of Kunštát the goods in Petrov, Sulíkov, Ustup, Rudka, Makov, Rozsíčka and shares of Zbraslavec, Touboř, Sychotín and Rozseč his wife Jitka overwrote as dowry. 1406 inherited their sons and Jiří Heralt of Kunštát possession. Until the mid-19th century Petrov was always the rule Kunstat submissive. Gepfarrt the village is by Sulíkov.

After the abolition of patrimonial Petrov was in 1850, together with the municipality Sulíkov Rozseč in the District Commission Boskovice belonging. In 1867 the municipality Petrov was born. The 1924 planned construction of a railway from Skalice nad Svitavou after Bystré u Poličky whose pipeline route was configured using Petrov failed because of the resistance of the community Rozseč that demanded a track alignment on the own municipality and the construction thus prevented entirely. With the beginning of 1961 the church was assigned to the Okres Blansko.
