Pflugerville is a city in Travis County in the U.S. state of Texas in the United States.

Geography

The city is located in the central southeast Texas on Farm Road 1825, east of Interstate 35 in the northeast of the county, approximately 25 km north of Austin and has a total area of 29.4 km ². Waters in the area of Pflugerville are applied in 2005-2006 artificial Lake Pflugerville and the two streams Gilleland Creek and Wilbarger Creek. At Lake Pflugerville is Lake Pflugerville Park, which opened in 2010.

History

Was named the place after Henry Pfluger, who emigrated in 1849 with his family from Germany and settled here.

According to the census of 2000, there were 16,335 people in 5,146 households and 4,425 families. The population density was 556.2 inhabitants per km ². The racial the population was composed of 77.18 % White, 9.46 % African American, 0.24 % Native American, 4.31 % Asian, 0.09 % Pacific Islander residents from the and 5.99% from other ethnic groups.
