Philipp Schwethelm

Philipp Schwethelm ( born May 1, 1989 in Angel churches, North Rhine -Westphalia ) is a German professional basketball player. He played from 2011 to 2013 for FC Bayern Munich in the Bundesliga basketball. For the 2012/2013 season he was loaned to ratiopharm ulm. Upon termination in Munich Schwethelm signed a contract until 2015 in Ulm.

Philipp Schwethelm began at the age of 6 years in the TV Bensberg with the basketball games. Later he joined the TSV Bayer Leverkusen, but soon returned to Bensberg. In 2001 he won the West German championship with the youth of the D- TV Bensberg. He then moved to the neighboring club Cologne 99ers. From 2009 to 2011 Schwethelm played for the polar bears Bremerhaven and was able to move with his team in both 2010 as well as 2011 in the play-offs. For the 2011/2012 season moved Schwethelm within the league for the team FC Bayern Munich.

For the season 2012/2013 Schwethelm extended his contract early in Munich until 2014. Due to the decreasing playing time in the Bayern squad but he was awarded within the League for the 2012/2013 season where he ran aground for ratiopharm ulm. On 24 June 2013, the FC Bayern München Basketball as well as ratiopharm ulm announced that the still existing contract has been terminated in Munich and Philipp Schwethelm has a contract signed in 2015 in Ulm.
