Phillip Francis Straling

Phillip Francis Straling ( born April 25, 1933, San Bernardino ) is retired bishop of Reno.

Life

Phillip Francis Straling received on 19 March 1959, the ordination to the priesthood for the Diocese of San Diego.

Pope Paul VI. appointed him on July 14, 1978 Bishop of San Bernardino. The archbishop of Los Angeles, Cardinal Timothy Manning, who donated it on 6 November of the same year the episcopal ordination; Co-consecrators were John Raphael Quinn, Archbishop of San Francisco, and Leo Thomas Maher, Bishop of San Diego.

On March 21, 1995, he was appointed Bishop of Reno. From his office he resigned on 21 June 2005.
