Phonetic Extensions Supplement
The Unicode block Phonetic Extensions, supplement (English Phonetic Extensions Supplement, U 1 D80 to U 1 DBF) contains additions to the Unicode block Phonetic Extensions, including characters from previous versions of the International Phonetic Alphabet ( IPA) ( such as the number of characters with Palatalhaken, to be replaced by the current IPA version by combinations with ʲ, and with retroflex hook for " rhotazisierte " ("r - colored " ) vowels, which are to be brought since 1976 by combining with ɹ expressed ) and superscript IPA characters that are used for additional specification of phonetic symbols; this is recommended by the International Phonetic Association, without giving effect to this possibility in the IPA table.
