Phu Phra Bat Buabok Forest Park

The Forest Park Phu Phrabat Buabok ( Thai: วนอุทยาน ภู พระบาท บัวบก - Phu Phrabat Buabok Forest Park ) is a forest reserve in the province of Udon Thani in northeast Thailand, in Amphoe Ban Phue. Within the park lies among other things, the historical park Phu Phrabat.

Location

The Forest Park Phu Phrabat Buabok is in the northwest of the province of Udon Thani, Tambon Mueang Pan, Amphoe Ban Phue. You get there along the northern Thanon Mittraphap (segment Udon Thani - Nong Khai ), after about 40 kilometers, turn left into the road 2021 to Ban Phu and after another 11 km you will reach the Phrabat Heights.

Topography

Phu Phrabat is a rocky plateau about 350 meters above sea level. There are also several mountain ridges, parallel to the Phu Pan mountain and in the western part have steep slopes, of which beautiful views of the sprawling landscape of the park are possible.

Flora and Fauna

At the foothills of the dry dipterocarp forest thrives, which is dominated by tree species of the family wing fruit plants, especially of the genus Shorea. Mixed deciduous forest is found on the plains of the park. In the mountain valleys there is a dry evergreen forest with Afzelia species.

The fauna is characterized by primates, such as species of taxa macaques, lemurs and Loris. Types of taxa squirrels and moles ( Talpidae ) can be found. In addition, many species of birds in Southeast Asia settled here.
