Piergiorgio Nesti

Piergiorgio Silvano Nesti CP ( born February 18, 1931 in Marostica, Vicenza, Italy, † December 13, 2009 in Rome) was a Roman Catholic Archbishop Curia.

Life

Piergiorgio Silvano Nesti joined the Congregation of the Passionists and received on 30 August 1959, the sacrament of Holy Orders.

On 23 July 1993, Pope John Paul II appointed Archbishop of Camerino - San Severino Marche. He received his episcopal consecration on August 29, 1993, Cardinal Angelo Felici, former Cardinal Prefect of the Congregation for the Causes of Saints; Co-consecrators were Cleto Bellucci, former Archbishop of Fermo, and Salvatore De Giorgi, former Archbishop of Taranto.

On 27 November 1996, Pope John Paul II appointed Secretary of the Congregation for Institutes of Consecrated Life and Societies of Apostolic Life.

On 10 July 2006, Pope Benedict XVI. Nestis reasons of age pre- mounted resignation from the office of the secretary of the Congregation for Institutes of Consecrated Life and Societies of Apostolic Life on.

He is buried in the crypt of the Passionists at the Verano cemetery in Rome.
