Pierre Frieden

Pierre Frieden ( born October 28, 1892 in Mertert, † February 23, 1959 in Zurich ) was a Luxembourgian christian social politician and writer.

Between 1912 and 1916 studied peace in Luxembourg, Fribourg, Zurich, Geneva and Munich, philosophy and literature. In 1919 peace a job as a teacher at the Gymnasium of Diekirch. Later he moved to the Athenaeum in Luxembourg and finally to the Cours Supérieur.

Between 18 September and 4 November 1942, he was imprisoned in a concentration camp Hinzert.

After the liberation of Luxembourg in 1944 was peace in the Cabinet of Prime Minister Pierre Dupong Minister of Education, Culture and Sciences. On 3 July 1951 he also took over by Eugène Schaus the Interior Ministry. After the death of Dupong in December 1953, he kept these offices also in the cabinet of Dupongs successor Joseph Bech.

On March 29, 1958 peace after the resignation of Bech was elected Prime Minister of Luxembourg. After nearly a year in office, he died at the age of 66 years.
