Pierre Renoir
Pierre Renoir ( born March 21, 1885 in Paris, † March 11, 1952 ) was a French actor.
Life
Pierre Renoir was the eldest son of the painter Pierre- Auguste Renoir and his wife Aline Victorine Charigot to the world. His younger brother was born in 1894 who later became a film director Jean Renoir. Pierre Renoir's godfather was a friend of the father of painter Gustave Caillebotte.
Even in his youth, Pierre Renoir was interested in acting. He attended the Conservatoire national supérieur d'art dramatique and won the 1907 Prize for Acting prix de tragédie. Although he initially showed little interest in the silent film, convinced him his future wife, the actress Véra Sergine, from 1910 to accept smaller film roles. From the connection with Véra Sergine 1914, the son of Claude Renoir went forth who successfully worked as a cameraman later.
After the death of Vera Sergine he married the actress Marie -Louise Iribe, with whom he founded the film production company " Les artistes réunis ". After the divorce, he married his third wife, Lisa, who was also an actress.
Pierre Renoir suffered in World War badly wounded, from which he recovered only slowly. At the beginning of the 1920s, he joined as an actor again. From 1928 he was part of the ensemble of his friend Louis Jouvet.
Jean Renoir convinced his brother Pierre in the early 1930s by the possibilities of sound film. 1932 played Pierre Renoir in La nuit du carrefour one of the first Maigret performer based on the text by Georges Simenon. Director of the movie led the brother of Jean Renoir. The brothers worked together later also in the films La fille de l' eau, La Marseillaise and Madame Bovary.
In 1935, he played in La Bandera an officer so pronounced that it was often fixed in later films in this role. One of his best -known film roles, the representation of Jericho in the 1945 part, directed by Marcel Carné children completed film of Olympus. When he ended his career in 1951, he could look back on numerous stage roles, and contribution in 65 films.
