Pierre Sagna

Pierre Sagna CSSp ( born July 11, 1932 in Ziguinchor, Senegal, † 24 May, 2008 Dakar, Senegal ) was Roman Catholic Bishop of Saint- Louis du Sénégal.

Life

Pierre Sagna joined the Congregation of the Holy Ghost and was ordained a priest on October 4, 1959. 1974 he became Pope Paul VI. Bishop of Saint- Louis du Sénégal, a suffragan of the Archdiocese of Dakar, was appointed. He received his episcopal consecration on 11 May 1975, the Bishop of Ziguinchor Augustin Sagna; Co-consecrators were later Cardinal Théodore -Adrien Sarr, Bishop of Kaolack in Senegal, and Michael Joseph Moloney, Bishop of Bathurst in Gambia.

His age-related resignation was accepted by Pope John Paul II in 2003. He lived as a professor emeritus in Brusubi in Gambia.
