Pilot-Cosmonaut of the USSR
The Honorary Title flyer Cosmonaut of the USSR (Russian Лётчик - космонавт СССР ) was a state award of the former Soviet Union in the field of Soviet space exploration, which was gestift in the form of a badge on 14 April 1961. The honorary title which the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR was exclusively granted only to cosmonaut of the USSR, which had successfully made space flights. Until 1991 the title was awarded to 72 cosmonauts, then the honorary title was replaced by the award flyer Cosmonaut of the Russian Federation.
Stylish look and manner
The gold plated non-ferrous metal badge in the shape of a pentagon and shows a terrestrial globe on black ground, with the outlines of countries of the Soviet Union, which are themselves red enamel. Around the earth both two golden satellites and a launcher with a long golden tail. This symbolism is enclosed at the bottom of the badge by two upwardly laurel branches that show the abbreviation CCCP (USSR) show in their midst and at the top by the two words Летчик Космонавт ( flyers cosmonaut ).
