Pinball Construction Set

Pinball Construction Set (PCS ) is a computer game by Bill Budge ( BudgeCo ), which was published by the U.S. company Electronic Arts. The game was released for the Apple II and Atari 800 in 1983 and was later released for other home computers such as the Commodore 64 and DOS.

Background

Pinball Construction Set represented a new genre of computer games, the " Builder " or "construction set". With the PCS users had the opportunity to make their own virtual pinball machines to build a computer game. To this end, they needed only from a predetermined selection of elements for the flipper to select some and place on a virtual pinball table on screen. Furthermore, the player factors such as gravity, which acted on the pinball table, or other physical properties could influence. The players were able to save to floppy disks and distribute them to other players their final scheduled pinball together with self-made graphic elements.

PCS was at home all the different computer systems over 300,000 times. Electronic Arts brought after the success of even the programs Music Construction Set, Adventure Construction Set and Racing Destruction Set on the market. All of these follow-up programs have been developed by other programmers.
