Pinedas

Pineda is a Spanish municipality in the south of the province of Salamanca and belongs to the autonomous community of Castile - León. On 1 January 2013, the municipality had 112 inhabitants. The inhabitants call themselves " Pinedanos ".

Geography

The community is located 2 km from Rio Alagon away, near the Sierra de Francia and the highly visible mountain Pena de Francia. Neighboring municipalities are Colmenar (10 km), Stotoserrano (12 km) and molinillo. 30 km away is the famous ski resort of La Covatilla and the old trading town of Béjar. The university city of Salamanca is 90 km away. The natural landscape of this region is one of its biggest attractions, the lush vegetation and the richness of its varied world of flowers. The location has abundant water resources.

Culture and sights

Regular events

Every year on August 4 and 5, a festival held in gratitude of the Holy Patroness Nuestra Señora de las Nieves. This leads a procession through the village, are listed in the traditional folklore dances. The festival is expanded by the residents own for a week, being the evening dancing and partying until dawn to contemporary music.

In addition, the village celebrates on 13 June a festival in honor of the saint, San Antonio de Padua.

Economy and infrastructure

The Pinedanos living exclusively from agriculture. There are mainly grown and exported grapes and plums, with the whole village community ( Cooperativa ) and collaborates relationship.

The five -kilometer -lane access road " Carretera Antigua CV 209 " was resurfaced and provided with new road markings.

An unofficial, well-paved road leads to the farmer places Lagunilla and Sotoserrano.
