Pleuron (son of Aetolus)

Pleuron (Greek Πλευρών ) In Greek mythology, the son of Aetolus and Pronoe. His brother is Calydon, the founder of the Aetolian city. His wife Xanthippe, daughter of Doros. With this he had a son named Agenor and three daughters named Sterope, Stratonike and Laophonte.

He is considered the founder of the Aetolian city Pleuron. In Sparta he was worshiped in a Heroon because he was regarded as the ancestor of the Leda, the Spartan king Tyndareus woman.
