Plogonnec

Plogonnec ( Plogoneg Breton ) is a commune in the Finistère department in Brittany with 3056 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2011). It belongs to Arrondissement Quimper, Douarnenez to the canton and community association Quimper Communauté.

Geography

The municipality is located in the west of Brittany, about eight kilometer (km ) southeast of the Atlantic ( Bay of Douarnenez ) in the region of Cornwall. The tourist attraction in place Locronan located three kilometers north, Douarnenez 10 km west, 11 km southeast Quimper, Brest and about 40 kilometers north-northwest (distances slightly rounded in a straight line ).

Infrastructure

The nearest ski runs on the highway-like -laned road E 60 (Nantes -Brest ) is available from Quimper and Châteaulin. The Quimper train station is TGV Atlantique station and regional train station in the net of the TER Bretagne. The railway line Quimper Douarnenez, the few kilometers south of passes and had a station here, has already been shut down in 1974 in passenger transport. The next regional airports are Quimper Cornwall and the Brest airport.
