Poběžovice

Poběžovice ( German Ronsperg ) is a small town in West Bohemia Okres Domažlice with 1,658 inhabitants. It is situated in 435 m altitude at the Pivoňka in the foothills of the Upper Palatinate Forest.

History

The first mention of Poběžovice is related to Zdeněk Poběžovice of which is occupied in the years 1359-1373. 1424, it became the market town levied in 1502, to the city. During this time, the owner of Dobrohost Poběžovice also built the castle and a church and named the city in Ronsperk ( German Ronsperg ) to. From 1542-1621 the city belonged to the lords of Swan mountain ( Švamberk ), later the men of wit and desire in the 19th century the Counts of Thun and Hohenstein. Religion
