Podtynie

Podtynie ( German Poditau; 1937-1945: Neißgrund ) is a village in the powiat Kłodzki in Lower Silesia in Poland. It is located six kilometers north of Klodzko ( Glatz ), whose rural community it belongs to.

Geography

Podtynie is located in a loop of the river the Glatzer Neisse. Neighboring towns are Morzyszów in the north, Bardo Śląskie in the northeast, Boguszyn the southeast, Ławica the southwest, Młynów in the west and Wojbórz in the northwest. The 459 m high Straznik ( Wachberg ) is located northeast.

History

Poditau is occupied for the first time with a Bernard of Podytyn for 1342. Other spellings were Podetyn ( 1344), Podintyn ( 1377 ), Podetin ( 1382 ), Poditaw (1419), Podietin (1477 ) and Poditau ( 1747 ). It was one of the first to the Glatzer country with which it shared the story of his political and religious affiliation.

After the reorganization of Prussia Poditau belonged since 1815 to the province of Silesia and was from 1816 to 1945 the county Glatz incorporated. As an independent country parish it belonged to the district of Labitsch ( Neisse Fells ) or Hassitz. In 1937 it was renamed Neißgrund. 1939 counted 181 inhabitants. As a result of World War II Poditau / Neißgrund 1945 as almost all of Silesia was lost to Poland and was renamed Podtynie. The German population was expelled. The new inhabitants were partly displaced persons from eastern Poland. 1975-1998 belonged to Podtynie Voivodeship Wałbrzych.
